A Celebration of Poets
We received the book today that published Landon's poem, very exciting. It is a pretty good sized book and he even gets his own page because he was one of the top poems. Horray for Landon.

Seasons
An extremely cold winter night
While the crystal snowflakes take flight
Walking to snow drifts all in white
Four changing seasons bring new sights
Hearing birds sing and see them fly
With the other things in the sky
Having fun with friends flying kites

Another very hot summer day
Possibly seeing a blue jay
Hearing crickets all through the warm night

Getting our Christmas tree
This past Saturday we went to our favorite place to get a tree, Christmas Mountain in Scappoose Oregon. We have fun there, free hot cocoa and spiced cider, they have the prettiest trees.

Landon: Published Author
Last spring Landon was entered, by his 6th grade teacher, in a nationwide poem contest. He was one of the 10 winners in his age group for the Summer contest and he will be published in the Winter poem book, he also got a savings bond. We are very proud of him.

A new addition
We are considering adopting a kitty from the shelter, her name is Nutmeg. We have had her for a week and we are hoping that her and our parakeet can learn to ignore each other. She is a super sweet kitty, she puts up with all of us, and she is fully litter box trained. She just has a natural tendency to want the bird, imagine that :). Not sure what I was thinking. We definitely could not leave them in a room alone together. We love our bird so we are hoping it will all work out.

Happy Halloween
Braxton was "Where's Waldo", Landon likes to be a ghost I think it is because nobody will know that it is him, Madi was a witch, and Makenna decided to be Cinderella after wearing all the other costumes we have throughout this past week.
